The rules for Jacks or Better Video Poker are pretty straightforward. The player
is dealt five upturned cards. The player can put a Hold on any number of cards
for shaping the final hand by clicking the "Hold" button directly underneath
each card. Upon hitting the Deal button again, those cards not held are
discarded and new cards are re-dealt with the remaining deck. After the second
deal, the player act's no more - The final hand is gauged against the pay table
and any winnings are paid. While the payout can vary from table to table (for
certain hands), the winning poker hands themselves stay the same. If you are
trying to get the best odds possible playing Jacks or Better video poker, it is
highly advised you seek out a full pay 9/6 game. What this means is that a Full
House pays nine coins on a single coin wager and 6 coins on a Flush. Compared to
an 8/5 game, this paytable brings the payout percentage up 2% to a favorable
99.5%.
As the name implies, payouts begin with a hand of a Pair of Jacks or Better.
Below is the winning hand chart according to a full pay 9/6 payout table.
